A strictly limited release: just 2,166 cases, representing 7.64% of Quinta do Noval's total Port output that year.
2024 delivered one of the more favourable growing cycles in recent memory. A wet winter built up soil reserves, a cool start to summer slowed things down at the right moment, and cooler nights in August preserved acidity while concentration built steadily. Touriga Nacional and Touriga Francesa carried the vintage.
Grapes came in between 4 September and 11 October, foot-trodden in granite lagares in the traditional way, then rested for 18 months in wood before bottling.
In the glass: dark and dense, with black cherry, wild berry and violet leading the nose, layered with rockrose, redcurrant, a touch of spice and a whisper of cocoa. The palate is broad and concentrated, tannins firm but polished, fruit precise. A long, refined finish with real ageing potential ahead of it.
Analysis: 19.5% vol · 98 g/l residual sugar · 4.5 g/l total acidity · pH 3.64
