Quinta do Noval Vintage Port is produced from the finest parcels of the Quinta do Noval estate, using traditional Douro varieties including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão and Sousão. The grapes are foot-trodden in the estate’s granite lagares before ageing in wooden casks. The 2023 vintage followed the extreme heat and drought of 2022, with a much wetter winter and a more moderate growing season. The abundant water reserves and relatively mild summer allowed for slow, even ripening, resulting in excellent freshness, aromatic purity and structure. Noval described the grapes at harvest as showing “excellent sanitary condition, with clean aromatic expression, balanced phenolic ripeness and ideal freshness.” The result is a concentrated yet elegant Vintage Port, combining ripe dark fruit with floral notes, firm tannins and the freshness needed for long ageing.

The 2023 Quinta do Noval Vintage Port was selected from only 7.4% of the estate's total Port production, with 2,280 cases produced.
