A distinctive and limited-production Shiraz from Stellenbosch, South Africa. Produced by Stellenrust as part of its ArtiSons range, the wine comes from a tiny 0.2-hectare vineyard in the Bottelary Hills. The vineyard is situated directly alongside eucalyptus trees, which contribute to the wine’s highly recognisable character. Aromas and flavours of ripe blackberry and blueberry are combined with violets, black pepper, eucalyptus, mint and dark chocolate. This characteristic combination of mint and chocolate inspired the name After Eight. Stellenrust After Eight Shiraz is partially fermented with whole bunches and subsequently matured for 18 months in French oak barrels. The result is a powerful and concentrated Stellenbosch Shiraz with ripe tannins, fresh acidity, pronounced spice and a long finish with notes of dark chocolate and eucalyptus. A distinctive South African Shiraz with a very small production and a highly individual style.
