Silval is a Vintage Port produced by Quinta do Noval, designed to mature earlier than the estate's flagship Quinta do Noval Vintage Port. It is made from grapes sourced from Quinta do Noval and other vineyards, and follows the same traditional approach of foot-treading in lagares before ageing in wooden casks. The 2015 vintage was marked by a very hot and dry growing season, particularly in the Cima Corgo, where rainfall was significantly below average. Despite the challenging conditions, the vintage produced wines with ripe fruit and concentration, while the Silval style offers a more accessible expression designed for earlier drinking. The result is a rich and approachable Vintage Port, showing blackberry, mulberry and dark cherry alongside subtle mint and dark chocolate. The palate combines generous fruit with balanced acidity and tannins, leading to a long and elegant finish.

Please note: Silval is no longer produced. Quinta do Noval has discontinued this label, making existing vintages increasingly rare. As availability declines, Silval is becoming a sought-after collector’s item – a unique piece of Noval’s winemaking legacy.
