Quinta do Noval LBV Unfiltered 2013

Quinta do Noval LBV Unfiltered 2013 Late Bottled Vintage Port from a single year, matured for five years in wooden casks before being bottled without filtration. This preserves more of the wine's natural character and allows it to develop further in bottle. The 2013 vintage was marked by a cool and wet spring followed by a hot, dry summer. Noval harvested early, before the heavy September rain, selecting grapes from the warmer parts of the estate. The resulting wines showed excellent concentration, freshness and aromatic intensity despite the small production. A rich and elegant LBV with ripe black and red fruit, plum, violet, spice and subtle chocolate notes. The palate is full and supple, with fine tannins, fresh acidity and a long, expressive finish.
