Quinta do Noval Colheita 1997

Quinta do Noval Colheita is a rare Port produced in small quantities. It is a dated Tawny Port.
Each Colheita takes its personality from the Quinta do Noval terroir and from the vintage, like our Vintage Port, but aged in barrels until bottling.
 
Characteristics of the vintage
In 1997 the winter started cold and snow covered the entire Quinta for a few days.
February and March temperatures were very hot and dry, causing a very early flowering however in perfect conditions for a good fruit set.
The rains of April and May, assisted by mild temperatures that rose to normal at the end of June, compensated the lack of water in the soil. August and September with very hot days and cool nights provided an excellent maturation.
The harvest took place from 22nd September to 9th October.
