El Enemigo Malbec 2022
El Enemigo was founded by Catena Zapata’s chief winemaker Alejandro Vigil and historian Adrianna Catena, whose passion for wine comes from her father, the famous winemaker Nicolas Catena. United by a love for literature and philosophy, they set out to create wines offering a unique interpretation of Argentina’s classic grape varieties.
This Malbec is produced at Piedemonte al Sur in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, close to the foothills of the Andes. Grapes are grown at up to 1478 metres above sea level, where high altitude ensures ripeness, aromatics and freshness. Fermented in stainless steel and matured for 15 months in 100-year-old French oak foudres, the wine shows vibrant dark berry fruit, soft tannins and a long finish with subtle oaky spice.
