El Enemigo Cabernet Franc 2019

€22.95Price

El Enemigo is an Argentinian project founded by Catena Zapata chief winemaker Alejandro Vigil and historian Adrianna Catena, Nicolas Catena’s youngest daughter. The wines reflect their shared passion for history, philosophy and literature, offering rule-breaking, romantic expressions of classic grape varieties with a distinctive Argentinian twist.

This cool climate Cabernet Franc is grown at altitude in Mendoza at the foot of the Andes. Grapes come from vineyards in Gualtallary at 1400–1470 metres above sea level, where cool nights and a long ripening season create an intense yet perfectly balanced wine. Aged for 16 months in 100-year-old Alsatian foudres and large oak casks from Italy, it delivers dark berry flavours, smooth tannins and a long, spicy finish.
