With age, Sauternes transforms from opulent sweetness into profound complexity. Its golden fruit giving way to layers of honey, wax, spice and quiet oxidation. What remains is not richness, but harmony.
Château Liot is a family-owned estate in the Haut‑Barsac plateau, with vineyards on red clay over fractured limestone, a terroir ideal for the development of noble rot. The vineyard is planted with approximately 80 % Sémillon, 15 % Sauvignon Blanc and 5 % Muscadelle. Grapes are hand-harvested over successive passes, and the wines are matured in oak barrels for 9 to 18 months depending on the vintage, resulting in wines with ripe stone fruit, honeyed richness and fresh acidity.
