With age, Sauternes transforms from opulent sweetness into profound complexity. Its golden fruit giving way to layers of honey, wax, spice and quiet oxidation. What remains is not richness, but harmony.
 
Château Filhot is a Deuxième Cru Classé (Second Growth) in the 1855 Sauternes classification. Located on south‑facing slopes in Sauternes, its vineyards cover about 60 hectares planted mainly with Sémillon (~60 %), Sauvignon Blanc (~36 %) and Muscadelle (~4 %). Grapes are hand-harvested in multiple passes to select botrytised berries. Vinified in temperature‑controlled vats and aged partly in French oak, the wine shows rich yet fresh Sauternes character, with apricot, honey, toasted almond notes, and lively acidity balancing the sweetness.
