No secondary-market bottles, just the reassurance that these rare Vintages have been properly kept and are in excellent condition. Quinta do Noval Vintage Port is produced from the finest parcels of the Quinta do Noval estate, using traditional Douro varieties including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão, Sousão and Tinta Roriz. The grapes are foot-trodden in the estate's granite lagares before ageing in wooden casks. The 2020 vintage was hot and dry, with a prolonged ripening period leading to an early harvest between 1 and 22 September. The resulting wines were exceptionally rich and powerful, with great density and immense tannic structure, yet remarkable finesse. The extreme conditions produced a particularly powerful style of Noval while retaining the purity and freshness characteristic of the Pinhão Valley. The result is a deeply concentrated and powerful Vintage Port, combining ripe dark fruit, spice and floral notes with dense tannins, freshness and an expansive finish. The 2020 Quinta do Noval Vintage Port was selected from only 7% of the estate's total Port production, with 1,055 cases produced.
