Ornellaia 2023 leans decisively toward finesse over power. Cabernet Sauvignon–led, with supporting Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, shaped by a cooler, more precise growing season. The profile is taut and linear: cassis, black cherry, graphite, and balsamic lift, underpinned by fresh acidity and finely grained tannins. Less extraction than warmer vintages, more detail and energy. A classical, structured Ornellaia with clear ageing potential rather than immediate opulence.
