All our Quinta do Noval Vintage Port bottles were purchased directly from Quinta do Noval as first-hand stock, with known provenance and storage history. No secondary-market bottles, just the reassurance that these rare Vintages have been properly kept and are in excellent condition. Quinta do Noval Vintage Port is produced from the finest parcels of the Quinta do Noval estate, using traditional Douro varieties including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão and Sousão. The grapes are foot-trodden in the estate's granite lagares before ageing for 18 months in wooden casks. The 2016 vintage was marked by a wet winter and spring followed by a hot, dry summer. The harvest began on 19 September in dry and sunny conditions, with the grapes ripening steadily throughout the picking period. Despite the extreme conditions, the wines showed excellent freshness, structure, intense bright fruit and remarkable aromatic expression. The vintage is particularly noted for its purity, balance and long ageing potential. The result is a powerful yet precise Vintage Port, combining dark berry fruit, violets and spice with firm, fine-grained tannins, freshness and exceptional length. The 2016 Quinta do Noval Vintage Port was produced in a quantity of 6,000 cases.
