Quinta do Noval Silval Vintage Port 1998

Silval is a Vintage Port produced by Quinta do Noval, offering a more approachable expression of the estate than the classic Quinta do Noval Vintage Port. The wine is made from grapes grown in the Douro and traditionally matured in wooden casks, allowing the fruit and tannins to soften while developing greater complexity. The 1998 vintage produced a Silval with a distinctly mature character. After more than two decades in bottle, the wine shows developed notes of leather, liquorice, roasted coffee, cacao, toffee and mature fruit, while retaining enough structure and freshness to remain balanced. The vintage is now mature and best enjoyed for its evolved, complex character. The result is a mature and elegant Vintage Port, combining dried and mature fruit with chocolate, coffee, liquorice and toffee, supported by soft tannins and a long, attractive finish.
