Quinta do Noval LBV 2016

Late Bottled Vintage Port from a single year, matured for four years in large wooden casks before being filtered and bottled. Unlike the unfiltered version, it is ready to drink without decanting and offers a more immediately accessible style. The 2016 vintage was a year of extremes, with a very wet winter and spring followed by a hot and dry summer. Rain in mid-September restored the balance of the vines and allowed ripening to continue under ideal conditions, resulting in healthy grapes with excellent concentration and freshness. A rich and concentrated LBV with blackberry, blackcurrant and dark chocolate, complemented by spice and a fresh minty character. The palate is full and rounded, with firm tannins, good freshness and a long finish.
